About This Spot

Els Terrassans is a warmly familiar spot tucked away on Passeig de Dintre in Blanes, where the rhythm of a traditional tapas bar invites both locals and visitors into a shared moment of easygoing pleasure. Walking through its doors, you step into a lively yet unpretentious atmosphere—where chatter flows freely over clinking glasses, and the pace is brisk but never rushed. It’s the kind of place that feels rooted in its neighborhood, a gathering point for those who appreciate the simple joy of well-crafted small plates paired with good company.

The heart of Els Terrassans lies in its deep embrace of classic tapas culture. Here, the menu is a thoughtful nod to old favorites and seasonal finds, marked with clear descriptions that invite eager explorations without fuss. Whether it’s the delicate tang of mussels dressed in vinaigrette, the satisfying crunch of calamares, or the comforting warmth of croquetas, each bite feels like a quiet celebration of regional flavors and culinary traditions. Simple dishes share the table with familiar scents and textures—olives, jamón, or spicy patatas bravas—offering a genuine taste of Girona in every mouthful.

Behind the bar, service strikes a balance between efficiency and friendliness. Even on busy nights, there’s an attentive care that keeps plates coming swiftly without sacrificing warmth. The crowd tends to be animated and diverse—locals catching up after work, visitors soaking in the authentic vibe, and regulars drawn to the no-frills charm. It’s the kind of place where you might find yourself exchanging quick smiles with strangers over a glass of tinto de verano or lingering just a little longer than planned to savor the lively hum of shared moments.

Els Terrassans doesn’t aim to dazzle with polished décor or elaborate presentation; rather, its appeal lives in the honest connection to its culinary heritage and the easy camaraderie it fosters. For those seeking a genuine taste of Catalan tapas culture, where every dish tells a story and every visit feels like a small discovery, this is a reliable, welcoming spot to make your own.

I stopped for some tapas and a drink, I was impressed with the menu in English and the labelling of every dish made it easy to choose. The waiter was very friendly and my food was with me in less than 5 minutes, the sangria was nice but would have been nicer in a better glass. The food was delicious, the mussels in vinaigrette were amazing. This is a typical, no frills tapas bar and it’s worth a stop-off.

If you're looking for good tapas this is the place. The "calamares a la romana", "pulpo a la gallega", "tortilla de patatas", "chipirones" and also the "ensaladilla rusa" are the best tapas in my opinion. It was so good, I had to eat here a few times during my holidays. Keep in mind it's a very busy place so it's better to get there early.

We had a few drinks and plates of tapas here and were pleasantly surprised. Others had complained the food was oily, but Chorizo aside (and oil is part of that dish!) didn't find that at all. That Chorizo & the baby octopus were particularly nice. Price was reasonable too. Misses out on the 5th star because it is a just little basic and lacking in ambience.

The food was very good. Even tho it was crowded, the food came very fast. Also, pan con alioli wasn't in the menu, but the waiter brought it when asked.
